HTC製Android端末Dream、来週発表へ

イギリスのテレグラフ紙によると、HTC製のAndroid端末「Dream」が、来週お披露目されるとのことだ。

The handset, known as the Dream, will be made my Taiwanese manufacturer HTC, and available exclusively on the T-Mobile network in the UK.

It is expected to be available in stores as early as November. It is thought the device will be launched at a special press conference in New York next Tuesday.

お披露目は、23日にニューヨークで開かれる記者発表で予定されており、イギリスでも早ければ11月にT-mobileから独占的に発売される、と報じられている。

スペックとしては、

The handset will run Google's new mobile phone operating system, Android. It is thought the phone will have a slide-out Qwerty keyboard as well as built-in global-positioning technology, and will be capable of running Google's range of web applications such as its email service Gmail, productivity suite Google Docs and mapping service Google Maps. It is also likely to feature Google's new web browser, Chrome.

ということで、発表されたばかりのブラウザChromeが使われるのではないか、という観測。

余談ながら、日本の新聞ではiPhoneは敗戦とか戦後処理とすら書かれている状況だが、イギリスでは

ということで、iPhoneは大成功している、そのiPhoneにDreamが挑戦すると、少なくてもテレグラフ紙には認識されているようだ。
